Hilltop Economic Development Corporation

The Hilltop Economic Development Corporation (HEDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by a group of community stakeholders to improve the quality of life for the residents in Mt. Oliver Borough and the adjacent neighborhood of Knoxville.  The HEDC is made up entirely of volunteers that are committed to the long-term health and economic vitality of their neighborhood.  Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m. at the LifeSpan Senior Center, 320 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210.

Economic Development South (EDS) is a local non-profit , multi-municipal community and economic development corporation focused on the redevelopment of the major commercial corridors that serve our neighborhoods. Member communities include the Allegheny County boroughs of Brentwood, Baldwin, Whitehall, Mt. Oliver, Jefferson Hills, Pleasant Hills; and the City of Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Carrick, Overbrook, and Brookline. EDS communities total over 100,000 residents and nearly 3,200 businesses; approximately 10 percent of the total residents and businesses in Allegheny County.

Hilltop Alliance is structured as a collaborative organization comprised of community-based organizations from the following eleven South Pittsburgh neighborhoods: Allentown, Arlington, Arlington Heights, Beltzhoover, Bon Air, Carrick, Knoxville, Mount Washington, Mount Oliver City, South Side Slopes, and Saint Clair, as well as Mount Oliver Borough.  As an umbrella organization, the primary goal of Hilltop Alliance is to connect neighborhood-based organizations and leverage their individual efforts, creating a shared vision and voice for the Hilltop.
